Statement by Governor John P. de Jongh, Jr.  
on Primary Election Victory

Governor John de Jongh and Lt. Governor Gregory Francis could not be happier at the overwhelming show of support from Virgin Islands Democratic voters in today’s Primary Election. What we saw tonight is a very strong statement from Virgin Islanders in support of the direction that the deJongh/Francis Administration has charted for our territory. 

The voting public resoundingly rejected the three months of misleading, negative attack ads that have clogged our airwaves. Instead, they have embraced the positive direction in which the territory is headed and working together we will continue to build a better future. 

“The support we have seen will no doubt take us through the November 2nd General Election and beyond. We thank each and every Democrat who came out to vote today and we invite all Democrats from the other campaigns and all voters throughout the territory to join us as we continue the work we have started for all Virgin Islanders. Together, we can build a better tomorrow for all,” said Governor deJongh.
