The Lowest Form of Politics
Posted by Robert O'Connor on October 27, 2010 at 2:15 PM AST

Earlier today, I responded to yesterday's job actions at the Virgin Islands Port Authority as well as the rumors of similar actions being planned before next Tuesday's General Election.

Like many, I was extremely disappointed that opponents of the Governor had decided to put their interests ahead of all others including local businesses, residents, and families by their recent actions.

What we saw yesterday with the job action taken by a small few put untold financial burden on our people and cost many people from our restaurants to our taxi drivers significant financial hardship. Ken Mapp and his supporters should be ashamed of themselves.

It is widely known now that Mapp and his supporters were behind yesterday's disruption as well as other planned disruptions within the workforce between now and Election Day. This is the absolute lowest form of politics - hurting others to accomplish your goals and I believe it speaks volumes about the character of Ken Mapp.

As we have throughout this campaign, John and Greg will continue to make the truth known to the voters, and we have great faith in them.
